Ted Williams, the homeless man with the ‘Golden Voice’, has left rehab and headed to the airport. This news comes just two weeks after Dr. Phil convinced him that he needed to seek extensive rehabilitation in order to get back on track.

Unfortunately, Ted has done what the world thought he might do — bail. Williams was a patient at the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas and for reasons yet unknown, he walked away from the program.

Dr. Phil convinced Ted’s girlfriend Kathy, also an addict, to enter a program in order to help herself and ultimately help Williams too. She is undergoing treatment at Safe Harbor rehab center in Costa Mesa, California.

In order to get Kathy motivated to get clean, Dr. Phil put Ted on the phone during last Friday’s show from his treatment center and together they convinced the girlfriend that she needed to get sober if she was going to have any future with Ted.

Ted was offered a gig doing voice work for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese and told Dr. Phil that his goal was to find a permanent place to live.

Dr. Phil released a short statement: “We certainly hope that he continues his commitment to sobriety, and we will continue to help and support him in any way that we can. We wish him well.”
