With Jennifer Lopez still not locked into a contract for the next season of American Idol, rumors are running rampant. The latest claim is that Shakira will be  sitting next to Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson when they begin the next round of auditions.

Shakira is more than qualified with her extensive musical background, but other names have been dropped, including that of Shania Twain.

Don’t count Lopez out just yet.  She has been seriously considering doing a musical competition show of her own but a sweet deal could very well entice her to stay put for another season on Idol.

Let’s play devils advocate.  Who would you like to see sitting next to Jackson and Tyler when AI begins its next cycle on FOX?   Would either Shania or Shakira be at the top of your list or have you got someone else in mind for your dream judge?  Let us know.
