Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has reportedly called off his engagement with actress Kristin Cavallari.

The couple got engaged in April after a whirlwind courtship that began in the Fall of 2010.  They were busily making plans for a Spring 2012 dream wedding, with date and location set, and their wedding registry also a done deal.

Most perplexing is the fact that just a week ago, Cavallari tweeted about her engagement party that was held on July 17: “Thx to all my amazing friends for making my engagement party a blast last night.”

A source told People magazine: “She got dumped.  She’s absolutely devastated.  She can’t believe this is happening.”

The actress, 24, had been spending a considerable amount of time in Chicago lately and planned to move in with Cutler, 28, for the upcoming football season.
