George Lopez received a pink slip from TBS today. The network announced that they are canceling Lopez Tonight after a two-year run.

The Turner Broadcasting System, owned by Time Warner, issued this statement: “TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of Lopez Tonight. Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer.”

The first year of the show enjoyed an average of nearly a million viewers during the 11:00 p.m. time slot. When Conan took over that spot, pushing Lopez to midnight, the ratings remained at that level for O’Brien but plunged by a killer 40 percent for Lopez Tonight.
