Kimberly Stewart, the daughter of veteran rocker Rod Stewart, gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday. The baby daddy is award winning actor and film producer Benicio del Toro.
Del Toro, 44, who engaged in a self-described "no-strings fling" with the baby's mother that resulted in the unplanned pregnancy, earned critical acclaim and numerous awards for his roles in Traffic, 21 Grams and Che.
The new father issued a statement through his rep, "Benicio is the father and very supportive. Although he and Kimberly are not a couple, they are looking forward to the arrival of the baby."
Stewart, 31, delivered her first child in Los Angeles on August 21. The yet unnamed daughter weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and measured 22 inches long.
The legendary musician and his current wife Penny Lancaster-Stewart were on hand for the blessed event, as was Kimberly's mother, Rod's ex-wife Alana Stewart Collins.
Rod Stewart, 66, is the father of eight children. The youngest is a son Aiden, who was born in February 2011.
