She found him to be cold and controlled …

Elisabetta Canalis broke up with George Clooney three months ago and has finally revealed what went wrong in their failed relationship.

The Italian model is currently living in L.A., where she is rehearsing daily for a stint on the thirteenth season of Dancing with the Stars.

In a candid interview with the Italian gossip magazine Chi, Canalis admits that she appears to have a bad, unhealthy taste in men, “I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me.”

She admits that “when it comes to love, I am a doormat.” She went on to say that the “the end of the relationship was complicated. You have to accept that Prince Charming is not coming to save you.”

Elisabetta is sure of one thing–in the future she will seek “a relationship where I understand the other person.”

If we read between the lines, it appears that Clooney was cold and controlling, didn’t protect her, and didn’t allow her to understand who he was. That said, the 32-year-old still considers the break up “a personal failure.”

For those keeping track, Stacy Keiber is the actor’s rebound girlfriend. The former pro wrestler also hit the dance floor as a DWTS contestant, taking third place honors during Season 2.

George’s former girlfriend admits she fled Europe after the split and was pleasantly surprised to find peace in the U.S., “Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity. I’ve also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things.”

Canalis and pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy are among the dozen couples who will compete for the mirror ball trophy when the hit ABC show DWTS premieres on September 19.
