In spite of the fact that Brad Pitt revealed this week that he and Jennifer Aniston had a "pretend marriage," she and current boyfriend Justin Theroux have been holding their heads up high on the streets of NYC.
In a Parade magazine interview that will appears in newspapers across the country on Sunday, Pitt was quite candid about the dull, sham union that he shared with his ex-wife. He made a point of contrasting that with the wonderful life he now shares with Angelina Jolie and their six children.
The morning after the interview hit Parade's website, Brad was shocked to discover that the slant of the article made him look callous. He immediately issued a statement.
"It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly."
"The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself - and that, I am responsible for."
Thus far Jen has held her silence on the matter. She did get a few good licks of her own in during a September 2005 Vanity Fair interview. "There's a sensitivity chip that's missing from Brad. He makes his choices. He can do - whatever. We're about to be divorced, and you can see why."
The "why" she was referring to was Angelina Jolie, who hooked up with Pitt while they filmed the romantic comedy Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Jen managed to take a swipe at the home wrecked in a 2008 Vogue interview, calling her rival "uncool."
