‘3 Doors Down’ bassist Robert Todd Harrell was arrested on Friday night and charged with vehicular homicide after a tragic accident in Tennessee.

Police claim Harrell was driving a 2011 Cadillac CTS at a high rate of speed when he ran into a truck and sent it flying into a guardrail and down an embankment where it flipped over.

The driver of the truck, Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr., 47, was ejected from the vehicle and died.

Harrell showed signs of inebriation and failed a field sobriety tests. The rocker admitted drinking hard cider and taking the painkiller Lortab and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax prior to the accident.

He was also charged with bringing a controlled substance into a police station. While being searched at the lock up, Davidson County Sheriff’s deputies found a plastic bag concealed in his sock that contained 8 Xanax, 24 Oxycodone and 4 Oxymorphone pills.

The band ‘ 3 Doors Down’ issued a statement on their website, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.”
