Jon Bon Jovi Dead” was the biggest “news” of the day yesterday, and Google searches are still on fire worldwide today over the latest celebrity death hoax.

The rocker had a little fun with the news of his death, posting a picture on his official Twitter and Facebook pages to prove he’s still alive and kicking.

The picture shows the singer holding a sign that reads, “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey, Dec. 19th 2011, 6:00.”

A fake story claimed that Jon Bon Jovi had died of cardiac arrest at the Empress Hotel in Asbury Park. The rumor spread like wildfire on Twitter.

Bon Jovi is not the first celebrity to be the victim of a Twitter death hoax. Last week Scott Baio reportedly died from a jet ski accident. Other celebrities who’ve been hit with the celebrity death hoax include Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Adam Sandler, Charlie Sheen, Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.
