Madonna picked up Best Original Song honors for Masterpiece last night during the 69th Golden Globe Awards, but not everyone in the audience was thrilled with her good fortune.

Elton John and his partner David Furnish had a few things to say about the outcome in a category that also nominated Elton for Hello Hello.

Furnish looked miffed when the camera panned to him after Madge’s name was announced and it didn’t end there.

He later hit Facebook with a mini-rant, “Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!! Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is.”

Elton seemed bitter towards Madonna before the awards even began by telling a reporter on the red carpet that he believed Madge had no “f**kin’ chance” of emerging victorious.

Backstage at the Globes, Madonna talked about beating out Sir Elton: “I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years. He’s been known to get mad at me so I don’t know. He’s brilliant and I adore him so he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad.”
