Actress Cynthia Nixon has shaved her head for the Broadway play Wit. She'll play a cancer-stricken professor when the show opens on Jan 26.
The Sex and the City actress showed up Tuesday morning sporting her no-hair look for an interview on LIVE! with Kelly.
Nixon reports that the transformation hasn't been easy to maintain, “I thought it was going to be kind of no-muss, no-fuss, but I have to shave it every day. It’s got kind of a five o’clock shadow. You don’t want to go out with that.”
Ripa complimented the shape of Nixon's head and wondered if she'll be tempted to stick with the new look after the show ends.
The actress relied, “I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like but I don’t think I’m going to keep it forever."
Cynthia, a cancer survivor, can totally relate to her new Broadway role. In 2006 she was diagnosed with breast cancer but kept it to herself for two years, finally revealing the news during a 2008 GMA interview.
Wit opens tomorrow at the Friedman Theatre in Manhattan. Check out before and after pics and Nixon's interview below:
