Five patrons of the popular Little Canada bar Gordie’s Place in Minnesota were injured after an out of control truck crashed into the liquor establishment on the afternoon of May 30, 2012.

The 51-year-old female driver reportedly suffered some type of medical emergency. Her vehicle veered across County Road C, struck a power pole and plowed into Gordie’s Place.

The driver was extricated by rescue crews who used cutting equipment to remove her from her badly damaged truck.

The on-duty bartender was able get out of the way but his customers didn’t fare as well. His quick thinking son used a Bobcat to pull the truck backwards to free the bar patrons from their trapped positions against the bar rail.

They were all able to stand and walk once they were freed but needed medical attention for cuts, bruises and contusions.

Five bar patrons plus the woman truck driver were transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. for treatment.
