adele and simon konecki expecting baby

Grammy award-winning singer Adele Adkins and her boyfriend Simon Konecki shared some special news with her fans yesterday - the singer is pregnant.

In a statement released Friday on her website, the 24-year-old singer revealed, "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together."

She continued,  "I wanted you to hear the news directly from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time."

The 'Rolling in the Deep' singer and her boyfriend came out as a couple in January 2012, when she was photographed in London with the 38-year-old divorced father and CEO of Drop4Drop charity.

During a February 2012 interview, the singer revealed a very specific goal ... she wants to have three sons by the age of 30.

theyre already jacking with bristol

It didn't take the Lifetime network long to discover that their newest reality show Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp is not primetime worthy.

After two weeks of lackluster ratings, Bristol Palin has been pulled from a featured Tuesday night time slot and is now related to 11:00 p.m., after reruns of Dance Moms.

We checked out a few minutes of the first two shows and bailed quickly after finding nothing remotely entertaining in the whiny dialogue.

Another glitch for the network is a lawsuit that has been mounted by Kyle Massey and his brother Chris, who claim they came up with the original show idea and were booted from the project.  It seems likely the show will be history long before they ever see their day in court.

Based on this latest turn of events, it shouldn't be long before Bristol and her young son leave sunny California and head back to Wasilla, Alaska.

the marriage is over

As many have speculated for months, the five-year union between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will end in divorce, his third.

She filed court papers in New York City citing irreconcilable differences.  Holmes is seeking primary custody of their daughter.

The couple wed in 2006 in a Italian castle, as witnessed by a star-studded group of guests who were flown in for the lavish occasion.

Katie's attorney, Jonathan Wolfe released a brief statement: "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family.  Her primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."

Cruise's rep confirmed the news: "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.  Please allow them their privacy."

Rumors grew stronger about a possible split when Cruise, 49, received a prestigious award from the Friars Club in Manhattan earlier this month.  Accompanying him to the event were his son Connor and daughter Suri.  His 33-year-old wife was not in attendance though she had been photographed out and about in NYC that day.

The couple's last public appearance was in February.  She did not appear with him at any of his recent 'Rock of Ages' premiere events.

Cruise and his last wife, Nicole Kidman, adopted two children during their union.  Prior to that he was married to Mimi Rogers.

fx anger management charlie sheen debut

Charlie Sheen kicked off his first episode of 'Anger Management' last night on the FX network and wasted no time in slamming his old gig 'Two and a Half Men.'

The opening scene featured Charlie's character hitting BoBo the punching bag while ranting: "You can't fire me.  I quit.  You want to replace me with some other guy? Go ahead.  It won't be the same."

While hitting the bag yet again he uttered, "You think I'm losing?  I'm ... anyway, you get the idea."

He then turns to his therapy group as we see the opening credits for the first episode.  He offers, "And those are just some generic ways you can express your anger."

Regarding the show ... Meh.

Check out the opening minutes of his debut show below:

new co anchor duo

The TODAY co-anchor chair left vacant yesterday by the abrupt departure of Ann Curry was filled on Friday by Savannah Guthrie.

Sitting next to Matt Lauer when the show aired this morning on NBC was Curry's replacement.  She got no fanfare nor was there any acknowledgement as the duo went about the business of hosting the morning show.

Lauer is on vacation next week so the network wanted to get Guthrie in place sooner rather than later.  NBC will launch a big splash on July 9 when TODAY welcomes Savannah officially to her new post.

NBC opted not to hype the change when Guthrie joined Lauer on Friday, presumably because Curry's fan base is still reeling from her sudden unheralded exit after 15 years on the show.

Ann's teary farewell was painful and stilted, with the veteran newswoman actually apologizing: "For all of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I'm sorry I couldn't carry the ball across the finish line, I did try."

The network filmed a test promo a few days ago that ended up on YouTube.  Check it out below:

usher picture

Usher has discovered that being famous has its challenges.  His peaceful existence was recently upended by a delusional female stalker, Darshelle Jones-Rakestraw.

The 26-year-old woman showed up uninvited at the entertainer's Georgia residence, where she pounded on the door while demanding to be let in.

Police were called to the scene and after questioning the woman, ordered her to leave and not return.  She left as instructed but returned the following day.  This time the stalker claimed she was married to Usher and that she had simply misplaced her keys.  The story didn't fly with the officer and she was placed under arrest.

Usher was granted a temporary restraining order that he will attempt to make permanent during a court hearing next month.

Unfortunately that isn't the end of the story.  It seems the woman uploaded a video on YouTube, claiming that the singer has been funneling her money and promised to pay for her living arrangements and help with her music career.  She is reportedly so upset that she is considering pressing charges for defamation.

Check out her YouTube video below:

snoop dogg

Rapper Snoop Dogg was busted this morning at an airport in Norway after customs officials determined that the entertainer was attempting to illegally bring Cannabis into the country.

The Agder Police Department detained Snoop at Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand and confiscated 8 grams of marijuana.

Because the rapper was caught with less than 15 grams of contraband, he was only required to shell out a nominal fine of 12,000 Norwegian Krone, roughly $1,980, before continuing his travels.  He'll perform tonight at the Hove Festival.

Our lead photo was posted on Twitter by Snoop Dogg on June 26, captioned: "Smokey!!!! @Imperial Hotel Copenhagen."

ann announces departure from today

Ann Curry revealed this morning on TODAY that she is leaving her morning gig effective immediately and will take on new challenges at NBC News.

Amid tears, Curry was apologetic: "For all of you who saw me as a ground breaker, I'm sorry I couldn't carry the ball across the finish line, but man, I did try."

She will lead a new team covering stories spanning the globe.  She'll anchor prime-time specials and report for TODAY, Nightly News, Rock Center, Dateline and MSNBC, and will have a major presence across all digital properties.

Curry said, "We're going to go all over the world and all over this country at a time where this world needs clarity."

Co-host Matt Lauer responded, "You have the biggest heart in the business.  You have put that on display every single day for almost 20 years.  Most importantly, you've made us better, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

TODAY executive producer Jim Bell stated, "Ann has quite literally reached amazing heights in her career, and with this new role, she will continue her intrepid climb bringing viewers her signature brand of humanitarian reporting."

whitney houston and jordan sparks photo

The newly-released "Celebrate" music video turned out to be a blended recording of Whitney Houston and Jordin Sparks because the duo never got a chance to record the track together during the making of their upcoming film "Sparkle."

According to Sparks, "I would have loved to be in the studio with her, but with Whitney's schedule it got so crazy we never found the time to get together, so we recorded it separately."

Sparks has fond memories of Whitney: “She was so cool and very motherly toward me.  If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying ‘Are you okay?’”

The film, set to hit theaters on Aug. 17, also features Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo and Cee Lo Green.

The original motion picture soundtrack "Sparkle" will drop on July 31.
