Grammy award-winning singer Adele Adkins and her boyfriend Simon Konecki shared some special news with her fans yesterday – the singer is pregnant.

In a statement released Friday on her website, the 24-year-old singer revealed, “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.”

She continued,  “I wanted you to hear the news directly from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time.”

The ‘Rolling in the Deep’ singer and her boyfriend came out as a couple in January 2012, when she was photographed in London with the 38-year-old divorced father and CEO of Drop4Drop charity.

During a February 2012 interview, the singer revealed a very specific goal … she wants to have three sons by the age of 30.

It didn’t take the Lifetime network long to discover that their newest reality show Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp is not primetime worthy.

After two weeks of lackluster ratings, Bristol Palin has been pulled from a featured Tuesday night time slot and is now related to 11:00 p.m., after reruns of Dance Moms.

We checked out a few minutes of the first two shows and bailed quickly after finding nothing remotely entertaining in the whiny dialogue.

Another glitch for the network is a lawsuit that has been mounted by Kyle Massey and his brother Chris, who claim they came up with the original show idea and were booted from the project.  It seems likely the show will be history long before they ever see their day in court.

Based on this latest turn of events, it shouldn’t be long before Bristol and her young son leave sunny California and head back to Wasilla, Alaska.

As many have speculated for months, the five-year union between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will end in divorce, his third.

She filed court papers in New York City citing irreconcilable differences.  Holmes is seeking primary custody of their daughter.

The couple wed in 2006 in a Italian castle, as witnessed by a star-studded group of guests who were flown in for the lavish occasion.

Katie’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe released a brief statement: “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family.  Her primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

Cruise’s rep confirmed the news: “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.  Please allow them their privacy.”

Rumors grew stronger about a possible split when Cruise, 49, received a prestigious award from the Friars Club in Manhattan earlier this month.  Accompanying him to the event were his son Connor and daughter Suri.  His 33-year-old wife was not in attendance though she had been photographed out and about in NYC that day.

The couple’s last public appearance was in February.  She did not appear with him at any of his recent ‘Rock of Ages’ premiere events.

Cruise and his last wife, Nicole Kidman, adopted two children during their union.  Prior to that he was married to Mimi Rogers.

Charlie Sheen kicked off his first episode of ‘Anger Management’ last night on the FX network and wasted no time in slamming his old gig ‘Two and a Half Men.’

The opening scene featured Charlie’s character hitting BoBo the punching bag while ranting: “You can’t fire me.  I quit.  You want to replace me with some other guy? Go ahead.  It won’t be the same.”

While hitting the bag yet again he uttered, “You think I’m losing?  I’m … anyway, you get the idea.”

He then turns to his therapy group as we see the opening credits for the first episode.  He offers, “And those are just some generic ways you can express your anger.”

Regarding the show … Meh.

Check out the opening minutes of his debut show below:

The TODAY co-anchor chair left vacant yesterday by the abrupt departure of Ann Curry was filled on Friday by Savannah Guthrie.

Sitting next to Matt Lauer when the show aired this morning on NBC was Curry’s replacement.  She got no fanfare nor was there any acknowledgement as the duo went about the business of hosting the morning show.

Lauer is on vacation next week so the network wanted to get Guthrie in place sooner rather than later.  NBC will launch a big splash on July 9 when TODAY welcomes Savannah officially to her new post.

NBC opted not to hype the change when Guthrie joined Lauer on Friday, presumably because Curry’s fan base is still reeling from her sudden unheralded exit after 15 years on the show.

Ann’s teary farewell was painful and stilted, with the veteran newswoman actually apologizing: “For all of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I’m sorry I couldn’t carry the ball across the finish line, I did try.”

The network filmed a test promo a few days ago that ended up on YouTube.  Check it out below:
