Disney stars Kyle Massey and Christopher Massey filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles federal court on Tuesday in an attempt to pull the plug on a new Lifetime show featuring Bristol Palin.

The brothers claim in their 31-page lawsuit that they came up with the idea for a reality show featuring Sarah Palin’s daughter adjusting to life in the big city while raising a child as a single parent.

Their working title was ‘Bristol-ogy 101’ and they claim producer David McKenzie ran with their idea but aced them out, repackaging the original idea minus the brothers, as ‘Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.’

The Massey sibs planned to live with and help their former Dancing with the Stars pal to navigate her new life in L.A. as cameras captured their day to day lives.

They want a judge to halt production on the reality show and award them damages, claiming that they were guaranteed $500,000 to co-star with Bristol Palin.

The show debuted Tuesday on Lifetime. Check out what the Washington Post had to say about it:

Based on a growing number of scathing reviews it seems likely the show may be short-lived regardless of how a federal court judge decides to rule in the case.
