The fun and games are over for Prince Harry. Army Captain Wales arrived in Afghanistan on Friday to begin a four-month tour of duty as an Apache helicopter pilot.

A spokesman for St. James Palace said, “He’s approached the deployment with a range of emotions like any other soldier and feels both pride and anticipation as he deploys for a job he’s trained for, for so long.”

“Prince Harry, like any soldier, considers it a great honor to represent his country in Her Majesty’s armed forces wherever it chooses to deploy him.”

The Queen and the Prince of Wales received an operations briefing. The Palace reports that Prince Charles is, “immensely proud of his son.”

Harry recently served as a British ambassador to the London Olympics and Paralympics. He suffered a serious media misstep during a recent trip to Las Vegas, when he was photographed partying with his pants down.

The youngest son of the late Princess Diana will turn 28 on Sept. 15.
