Kelsey Grammer was moments away from appearing on Piers Morgan's show last night when he made an 11th hour decision to go home.
The veteran actor was at the CNN studios in NYC ready to go live with Piers when he noticed on the monitor that they were airing a photo of his ex-wife Camille Grammer as part of his intro.
That perceived betrayal set him off and he immediately bolted for the door.
Morgan hit Twitter: "Kelsey Grammer was supposed to be on my show now but ran out of the building. Strange."
He continued to tweet: "He saw a photo of his ex wife Camille in the open to our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before. I had a very friendly chat with Kelsey backstage. He said he was really looking forward to the interview. Weird."
Then Piers twisted the knife: "I like Kelsey Grammer personally, but this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn't even going to mention his ex-wife!"
Grammer's rep responded, "Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It's called accountability."
The award-winning actor recent told Oprah that he refuses to utter his ex-wife's name. His new favorite conversation topics include his television series 'Boss,' new wife Kayte Walsh and their baby daughter Faith.
Piers added one more tweet this morning:
