Eight celebrity contestants and their pro partners competed Monday in the first of two nights of performances during Week 5 of the ABC hit reality competition DWTS: All-Stars.
Because of the final Presidential Debate, Monday’s show was limited to one hour. Half of the remaining celebs took to the dance floor in a freestyle routine set to ‘Call Me Maybe,’ led by Shawn Johnson and her partner Derek Hough.
Joining them were Apolo Ohno & Karina, Melissa Rycroft & Tony and Sabrina Bryan & Louis.
Rycroft suffered a neck injury described as a herniated disk Sunday during rehearsal and her status remained unclear until show time.
Tom Bergeron showed dramatic footage of the accident and an EMT crew attending to the injured celebrity.
Four couples performed individual dances: Kelly Monaco & Val, Gilles Marini & Peta, Kirstie Alley & Maks, and Emmitt Smith & Cheryl.
The best moment of the night occurred following Gilles’ super sexy Rumba. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba shouted, “Let the baby making begin.”
Without missing a beat she fell out of her chair and hit her head after landing hard on her back. She was help to her feet by Marini, who gave her a kiss as he put her back on her judges perch. The dance and his gallantry earned a 29.5 with only Len withholding a perfect 10.
