The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka Prince William and the former Kate Middleton, announced this morning that they are expecting their first child … news that quickly crashed their website.

They further revealed that she has been hospitalized for severe morning sickness, a situation that caused the Royal family to announce the pregnancy sooner rather than later.

The statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.”

“As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.”

Prime Minister David Cameron hit Twitter to share the news, “I’m delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby.”

The child will be born third in line to the throne and will be a great grandchild to the Queen, who along with the rest of the Royal family is “delighted with the news.”

While recent photos don’t reveal an obvious baby bump, we do think that Kate’s face seems slightly rounder — and she does appear to be glowing.
