Disgruntled former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has filed a lawsuit against Blue Orbit Productions to recoup the $2.3 million that they owe on her pay-or-play two year contract.
Cole was booted from the show by Simon Cowell before any episodes aired because he feared American audiences wouldn’t understand what she was saying because of her heavy British accent and rapid speech pattern.
The television personality was paid $1.8 million for the first season and nothing more. Her lawyer has filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court, detailing funds owed to her based on an unfulfilled two year contract with these guarantees: $2 million for season two plus $100,000 wardrobe allowance, $25,000 for a stylist, $15,000 per month for a hotel or apartment in L.A., and $2,500 per month for living expenses.
The lawsuit requests “further relief as the Court deems just and appropriate” for interest on the unpaid money and legal fees.
