Veteran singing icon Madonna is known for making headlines while on stage and her performance in Chile last night was a prime example.

Madge, 54, has some pretty strong opinions on cigarette smoking and she freaked when she noticed that some fans were puffing away in the crowd.

The singer shrieked during a sound check, “Put out your butts…or I’m not gonna perform.”

Her plea apparently fell on deaf ears and the second-hand smoke began to irritate the pop icon, “There are people smoking right now. No smoking! If you’re gonna smoke cigarettes, I’m not doing the show.”

On a roll now–she added, “You don’t care about me? I don’t care about you. All right? Are we going to play that game? I’m not kidding. I can’t sing if you smoke .. Entiendes?”

Clearly there was someone taunting her because the Material Girl said, “You’re looking right at me and smoking cigarettes, like I’m a stupid f**king idiot.”

The butt was finally extinguished and the show moved along without further incident.
