Professional soccer player David Beckham is heading to France. The former Los Angeles Galaxy star fielded 12 offers from soccer clubs around the world and has signed with the Paris Saint-Germain team.
Beckham, 37, was introduced at a press conference at Parc des Princes stadium this morning after signing a five-month deal. He plans to turn over his multi-million dollar salary to a children's charity.
He told reporters, "I consider myself to be part of this club...in helping the French league to grow and also helping this club to be one of the biggest powerhouses in football."
The pro athlete acknowledged that Victoria Beckham and their four kids won't be joining the soccer star full time in Paris, "My wife and children will be staying in London because the children are in school there."
Victoria released a statement: "Incredibly proud and supportive of David. And we are excited about spending some time as a family in Paris over the coming weeks. We are passionate about supporting children's charities and donating to a local children's charity in Paris is something we are delighted to do."
