After more than a decade of marriage, Ashley Judd and Scottish racecar driver Dario Franchitti have announced they are seeking a divorce.
The actress and her three-time Indianapolis 500 winning spouse released this statement: "We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed."
In a show of solidarity she tweeted, "Family Forever @dariofranchitti." He responded in kind, "@ashley judd family forever."
Judd, 44, and Franchitti, 30, have a home near Franklin, Tennessee. They wed in a private ceremony at Skibo Castle in Scotland in 2001 after a two year engagement. Serving as her maid of honor was her country singing sister Wynonna Judd.
Ashley has had a string of bad luck with her 2011 film 'Flypaper' co-starring Patrick Dempsey and the short-lived 2012 ABC series 'Missing.' The film was panned by 15 of 18 critics and received a Rotten Tomatoes rating. The TV gig aired for two months and was not renewed for a second season due to low ratings.
