A major shakeup on the NBC sitcom ‘Up All Night’ just got rockier with the announcement that lead actress Christina Applegate is out.

Will Arnett‘s co-star released this statement Friday: “It’s been a great experience working on ‘Up All Night’ but the show has taken a different creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors.”

“Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true and I am grateful he brought me into his TV family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew, and wish then the best always.”

Applegate isn’t the only one bailing. The original creator of the series, Emily Spivey, and show producer, Tucker Cawley, were shown the door or left on their own as part of the revamp that will begin filming on tape in front of a studio audience instead of the single-camera format that appealed to Christina.

It seems unlikely that NBC will scrap the series. They are undoubtedly already creating a short list of potential actresses suitable to fill the role vacated by Applegate.
