Kirstie Alley and her ensemble cast impressed executives of the TV Land network with their sitcom pilot and have been given the go-ahead to produce 12-episodes of the series titled 'Kirstie's New Show.'
The two-time 'DWTS' celeb will play Broadway star Maddie Banks, who finds her life turned upside down when the nerdy adult son she gave up at birth (Eric Petersen) surfaces after his adoptive mother dies.
Her assistant and best friend will be played by former 'Cheers' co-star Rhea Perlman and the role of her over-the-top driver went to 'Seinfeld' actor Michael Richards.
TV Land president Larry W. Jones said, "This cast is a TV Land dream team of stars. Seeing them all together is truly mind-blowing."
Kirstie announced the big news via a YouTube video captioned 'Kirstie Alley Takes Manhattan -- and TV Land!'
