In the wake of the recently announced exit of Joy Behar from ‘The View,’ rumors suggest that her co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will also leave the show at the end of the current season.

Hasselbeck, 35, replaced Lisa Ling on the daytime talk show in November 2003 and has long been the most politically outspoken member of the group.

According to US Weekly, “The show’s resident conservative voice is being ousted after market research revealed that she isn’t popular with TV audiences.”

The website cited an unnamed production insider who said, “The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing. People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”

During the George W. Bush presidency, Hasselbeck acknowledged that she often received talking points from the administration and attended several White House dinners.

She butted heads with former co-host Rosie O’Donnell in 2007 over the war in Afghanistan — a feud that led to O’Donnell’s sudden exit from the show. In 2012 EH got into a battle of wills with Barbara Walters over Mitt Romney.

Not so fast… ABC released this statement to USA TODAY, “Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of ‘The View’ and has a long term contract.”

Her husband Tim Hasselbeck, a former NFL quarterback, co-hosts Fantasy Football Now on ESPN. They have three children: Grace, 7, Taylor, 5, and Isaiah 3.
