Mark Wahlberg, 41, says his party days are long over and he is now focused on family and career. The former rapper known at Marky Mark switched it up after the birth of his first child.
In a new interview Mark speaks of a simpler life, “Now that I just work and spend time with my family, there’s a lot more time in the day to get more stuff done. It’s the going out part that kills you. With the Oscars – I was still home in time to help my wife put the kids to bed.”
Walberg didn’t sit in the audience for the whole awards show, “I just went into a dressing room and played checkers and watched some of the show until it was time to get dressed and go on. Then I changed back into my comfortable clothes and went home.”
The father of four received critical acclaim for his role as Sgt Sean Dignam in ‘The Departed,’ and for producing two successful television series hits, ‘Entourage’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire.’
His acting skills are stretched in multiple directions with comedies like ‘Ted’ and sci-fi action films like the ‘Transformers’ franchise.
He acknowledged, “I feel more adventurous and willing to take risks. But I kinda hit my stride a while ago as far as my level of confidence and what I’m willing and capable of doing.”
Mark married Rhea Durham in 2009. Their four children range in age from 9 to 3.
