After six days in the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Lil Wayne has been released from the hospital.

It appears to have been an drug overdose that caused the onset of a series of massive seizures that left the singer in rough shape for several days.

The rappers underwent multiple stomach pumping procedures for remove codeine from his system, the main ingredient in ‘sizzurp.’

Lil Wayne is still weak and reportedly plans to lay low until he makes a full recovery.

Initially reports claimed the rapper’s situation was life threatening but his reps quickly squashed the reports as unfounded.

While in the hospital, Lil Wayne received some famous visitors including Drake, Chris Paul, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman.

The rapper has struggled with codeine for a few years and told friends several months ago that he had quit using the painkiller.

On Monday night, Mack Maine, the president of Wayne’s label, Young Money, thanked the hospital. “@LilTunechi has officially been released and is headed home…God is great.”

Wayne cancelled his upcoming European tour in an 11th hour decision on March 5, citing the fact that his album wasn’t ready and he didn’t want to rush it. That full story here.
