Amid speculation that 'The View' co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on her way out, Page Six indicates that CNN is hot on her trail.
CNN network honcho Jeff Zucker is very interested in seeing her join his cable channel. That is not to say that she couldn't wear two hats and still perform her morning duties alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd.
Following the upcoming departure of Joy Behar, several news sources claimed to have insider knowledge that her partner Elisabeth would not receive a contract renewal for next season.
Show creator Barbara Walters denied the allegation last week in a pointed discussion during the morning talking show.
Babes said, "There is a particularly false story that keeps getting picked up about Elisabeth's alleged departure, saying that we don't approve of her conservative views. The truth is, we love Elisabeth."
"I like her personally and she's just a wonderful person but beyond that, we value and appreciate her point of view. It is important to us because Elisabeth helps give this show perspective and balance and believe me she's tougher than she looks. She's had to sit her for a decade and take the kind of guff we give her.":
"So we have no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show."
Hasselbeck got her big break as a 2001 contestant on 'Survivor: The Australian Outback.' Following that stint she judged the Miss Teen USA Pageant and went on to host Style Network's 'The Look for Less' in 2002-2003. She replaced Lisa Ling on 'The View' in 2003 and has remained on the panel of co-hosts for the past decade.
Elisabeth wed former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck in 2002. They have three children: Grace, 7, Taylor 5, and Isaiah 3.
