Richie Sambora has bailed on the Bon Jovi world tour, citing "personal issues" for his sudden departure.
A source directly connected to the group claims that Richie and Jon Bon Jovi are in an all-out-war and that tensions have been strong for years and have finally erupted, "It's a classic Jagger-Richards blowup."
The source says that Jon belittles Richie and that they fight over money. Richie was a no show at the Calgary concert this week and Jon told the audience, "I had two choices: pack up and go home or give you everything I got ... Richie Sambora won't be performing for a while. If there's ever a night I need you, it's tonight, Calgary!"
In the past Sambora has struggled with addiction to painkillers and alcohol issues. He has previously taken breaks from the group for stints in rehab. This time he is reportedly clean and the issues are between the two men.
Last week Richie was spotted in Hawaii, zip-lining, hikes, paddle boarding, and lounging by the pool with his daughter Ava. Yesterday he tweeted, "Thank you everyone for your concern. I'm well, but had to stay in LA to take care of a personal matter. Love you all and see you very soon."
Will Richie return? Word is that the two sides are hoping for a reconciliation and that everything will be behind them by April 19, when Bon Jovi is scheduled to appear on Richie's home turf in Los Angeles.
