Last night on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ judge Len Goodman went ballistic while critiquing the trio dance performed by Kellie Pickler and her partners Derek Hough and Tristan MacManus.

Sorry ABC but we’re not buying it. The dramatic display, that had Derek unable to contain his laughter, appeared to be nothing more than a poorly orchestrated hissy fit staged to build up a controversy leading into the finals.

As Pickler and her man pros faced the panel, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli rushed out to embrace them in an over-the-top love fest that was bizarre.

Len sat bolted to his seat and then raged, “I was expecting more than flashing lights and crashing music. It was a hodgepodge of moves just out there to titillate the taste buds. Where’s the chasse capes? Where’s the twist turns? Where’s the recognizable paso doble? I can’t believe it! This girl is so talented!”

Inaba and Tonioli rewarded the Paso Doble with a pair of 10’s. Len held up his 7 paddle and was promptly booed by the audience.

Host Tom Bergeron later joked with mock horror, “Len, I don’t know you anymore.”

One thing is certain … there was a great deal of bad acting during Week 8.

Which of the remaining six celebrities will go home tonight? We’ll step out on a limb and suggest that the eliminated contestant will be either soap star Ingo Rademacher or ‘Bachelor’ Sean Lowe.
