Justin Bieber was booed last night at the Billboard Music Awards while accepting the fan-voted Milestone Award.
The Canadian pop star received boos while making his way onto the stage and again during his acceptance speech. Fans cheered in an attempt to drown out the haters in the crowd.
The Bieb seemed confused by their reaction as he delivered this response, "I'm 19 years old. I think I'm doing a pretty good job. Basically from my heart I really just want to say it really should be about the music. It should be about the craft that I'm making. This is not a gimmick and I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously. And all this other bull should not be spoken of."
The "bull" reference in his speech was undoubted a nod to the bad publicity the teen has been picking up recently for driving infractions, arriving late for concerts, hard partying and drugs confiscated from his tour bus in Sweden.
Bieber went on to thank his manager Scooter Braun and his parents. Later he picked up his second award for Top Male Artist.
Show host Tracy Morgan tried to lighten the mood by telling the crowd, "Don't be booin' nobody, this ain't 'Showtime at the Apollo.'"
