Former ’30 Rock’ star Alec Baldwin is set to host a current events and culture-themed weekly nighttime program on MSNBC.

The new talk show, ‘Up Late with Alec Baldwin’ will premiere in October and will air Fridays at 10 p.m. eastern.

Baldwin said in a statement, “After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I’ve developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented and engaging people in every imaginable field. I’m grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television.”

MSNBC President Phil Griffin issued this statement, “I’ve been talking with Alec for a while and can’t wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC. He’s got such passion for ideas and what’s going on in the world – he’s going to be a great addition to our line-up.”

The actor and his fitness instructor wife, Hilaria Thomas Baldwin, welcomed a daughter Carmen Gabriela on August 23, her first child and his second.

Hilaria, a correspondent for ‘Extra,’ allowed cameras into their Manhattan luxury condo when Carmen was just six-days-old. Check it out below:
