Cher spouted off about Miley Cyrus earlier this week and has now decided that she should have kept her "big opinionated mouth shut" about the now infamous VMA performance.
The 67-year-old diva chatted it up with USA Today a few days ago and had this to say about Miley's twerk-a-thon with Robin Thicke:
"I'm not old-fashioned. She could have come out naked, and if she'd just rocked the house, I would have said, 'You go, girl' It just wasn't done well. She can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."
It didn't take long for the 'Turn Back Time' singer to begin suffering from a bad case of remorse. Cher turned to social media with a series of angst-filled tweets.
The icon said, "I think what I think, but having said that ... I'm a little ashamed ... which is total bulls**t ... how can you be a little ashamed?"
"WTF is my problem? I'm too old to fall prey to the question of 'What do you think of M.C.?' What I should have said was, 'I didn't like it that much, but she's pushing the envelope, being an ARTIST! She's talented and didn't commit a felony."
"But somehow my ego had to get its two cents in. I didn't support a fellow artist. Truthfully she was F*ing brilliant because we're still talking about it."
She ended with this pronouncement, "This is NOT an apology for what I thought, it's a reminder that if I don't practice my principles, I lose them."
Gotta love Cher for her brutal honesty...
