FBI agents arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday who hacked the bedroom webcam of Miss Teen USA Cassidy Wolf .

Jared James Abrahams surrendered in Orange County, California on Sept. 26 and appeared in federal court in Santa Ana, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

Wolf, who was crowned Miss Teen USA on Aug. 9 after winning Miss California Teen, reportedly knew Abrahams from their high school years at Great Oak High School in Temecula.

An FBI affidavit contents that Jared Abrahams used malicious software to remotely operate webcams to capture nude photos and videos of at least seven women as they changed clothes. Some of them knew him personally and others he found by hacking Facebook pages.

Abrahams, a computer science student in college, was charged with extortion and was later freed on $50,000 bail, with GPS monitoring and home confinement. The judge stipulated that special monitoring software is to be installed on his computer. He is due back in court for arraignment on Nov. 4.

An investigation into the sextortion began in March when Wolf went to authorities after receiving an email sent anonymously by Abrahams, threatening to go public with images that would ruin her career as a model and beauty queen.

Miss Teen USA 2013 said she will use her fame to highlight cyber crime. She recently sat down with Willie Geist of TODAY to discuss the investigation. Check out the clip below.
