The producers of the wildly popular A&E reality series ‘Duck Dynasty’ are taking some heat from family patriarch Phil Robertson, who isn’t happy about the way the show is edited.

The 67-year-old reality star earned a master’s degree in education and spent several years teaching before receiving a patent on his first duck call and incorporating the Duck Commander Company in 1973

Recently interviewed by The Christian Post, Phil revealed that producers are heavy-handed during the editing process because they have “no moral compass.”

He used this example, “They inserted fake beeps like somebody had used profanity, but no one had used profanity. So I asked those guys who produce the show, I said, ‘Lemme ask you something. What’s the point of the fake bleeps?’”

“They’re the ones arranging the scenes,” Phil says. “Well, they’re the ones that said, ‘You know, I think it’d be cool here to maybe make it look like they’re cursing.’ Of course viewers thought there was some profanity going on. There was zero.”

He added, “If you want that, you can get all of that you want. Just turn the station. There’s plenty of that! And if we’re not using profanity, why make it look like we’re using profanity? What is the point? Why don’t you just run it and say what we say?”

Phil is happy to report that A&E editors stopped doing that. But there are still instances of creative spinning that Robertson characterizes as “spiritual warfare.”

Robertson related another beef, “When we prayed we said ‘In Jesus’ name, Amen’…and they requested that instead I say ‘Thank you Lord for the food. Thank you for loving us. Amen.’”

“So I said, ‘Why would you cut out ‘In Jesus’ name?’ They said, ‘Well, those editors are probably doing that. And they just think that, you know, they don’t want to maybe offend some of the Muslims or something.’”

He voiced his concerns and they made concessions, “I noticed now, every once in a while they’re leaving it in there. A&E owns the network and we signed contracts to film the show. You don’t turn that ship quickly. It’s a big ship.”
