During the ninth week of competition on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ the remaining couples performed one unlearned ballroom dance as well as a trio dance in the quarter-final round.

Each of the six remaining couples chose either an eliminated pro or a dance troupe member to make up a threesome for the Trio Challenge.

As expected, ‘Glee’ star Amber Riley and Derek Hough picked pro Mark Ballas for their Salsa. Her ongoing knee problems put a damper on their scores. She settled for 8’s and 9’s this week which put them near the bottom of the leaderboard.

Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke called upon Sharna Burgess for a Samba and got two 10’s for their efforts. Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff hooked up with Witney Carson to orchestrate a Jazz routine that earned them a perfect trio of 10’s.

Peta Murgatroyd signed on for a Salsa with comedian Bill Engvall and his pro Emma Slater. The judges weren’t impressed and gave him lowly 7’s. Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani tapped Henry Byalikov for a Jive. They got 9’s across the board last night for a very respectable night on the dance floor.

Actress Elizabeth Berkley and pro Val Chmerkovskiy asked his fellow Russian countryman Gleb Savchenko to work with them on a Salsa. They were rewards with 10, 10, 10. Unfortunately her fan base let her down and she was eliminated at the end of the show despite the fact that at least half of the remaining field are below her level of dancing expertise.

Previously eliminated celebrity contestants in the order of their departure: Keyshawn Johnson, Bill Nye, Valerie Harper, Christina Millan, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi and Brant Daugherty.

Bill Engvall continues to hang on thanks to a huge fan following. He looked embarrassed during Monday’s elimination when a far superior dancer was sent packing yet again.
