Selena Gomez has decided to cancel her upcoming tour of South East Asia and Australia in order to focus on herself.

In a statement released by Gomez, she said, “My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.”

She added, “To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”

The 21-year-old has been on the go for several years now and suddenly realized that she was in need of an extended break. Her camp insists, “Selena is fine, she’s in a great space. She’s looking forward to spending the holidays with her family.”

“She’s been on the road for six months and she’s just ready to be normal and at home with her family. She’s been working nonstop since she was 15 and wants to take a minute to herself.”

The 13 canceled venues would have kicked off in mid-January and would have taken her to Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, plus it would have been her first time performing in Australia with stops in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

This year Selena has played 55 dates across the U.S. and Europe while on tour. In addition, she has performed a number of other television and radio gigs during her down time.
