The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards were held Sunday night in Beverly Hills, where the Hollywood Foreign Press Association bestowed this year’s coveted trophies for excellence in film and television.

Top winners for the evening were Matthew McConaughey who won Best Actor, Drama for ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’ Best Actress, Drama honors went to Cate Blanchett for ‘Blue Jasmine.’

In the Actor, Musical or Comedy category, Leonardo DiCaprio won for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street,’ Actress, Musical or Comedy went to Amy Adams for ‘American Hustle.’

Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress honors: Jared Leto for ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ and Jennifer Lawrence for ‘American Hustle.’

Best Picture Drama went to ’12 Years a Slave,’ and Best Picture, Musical or Comedy was awarded to ‘American Hustle.’

Co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler “crushed it” with their humorous one-liners throughout the three-hour NBC broadcast. Their best joke of the evening was a stab at the noticeably absent A-lister George Clooney.

Tina Fey mused, “Gravity is the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

Bullock, who was referenced in the joke, rolled her eyes as the audience reacted to the good-natured bashing of her ‘Gravity’ co-star and close pal.

Kudos also go out to Amy Poehler, who picked up Actress, Musical or Comedy Golden Globe for ‘Parks and Recreation.’
