The Super Bowl XLVIII ad meter results are in at USA Today and the commercial that garnered the most favorable hype turned out to be Budweiser’s Puppy Love.

A spunky pound pup with a cute personality has a special friendship with a Clydesdale horse in a beer ad that aired with just two minutes left in what USA Today described as “a dog of a game.”

The pooch is adopted but keeps coming back to interact with his horse pal.

Other ads that scored well were Doritos’ Cowboy Kid, Budweiser’s Hero’s Welcome, Doritos’ Time Machine and Radio Shack’s Phone Call.

According to the New York Times, “Most of the commercials that Fox broadcast nationally during Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday sought to invoke fuzzy feelings that would warm the cockles of consumer hearts, if not MetLife Stadium. The television and social media audiences were exhorted repeatedly to forget their troubles and put on a smiley face.”
