If you caught the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards last night, you may have wondered why Nicki Minaj was shiffling about the stage, holding her own dress together like a Looney Tunes character who’d just been caught in her old-timey dressing gown.
Nicki’s explanation was that she had limited time to change between her two performances, and when the zipper on her dress gave way under the strain of her ample lady lumps she decided the show must go on and hit the stage doing a cleavage clutch.
Today, however, the truth came out and – as you may have guessed – Nicki’s wardrobe malfunction was staged.
Basically, Nicki was hoping to get everyone talking with the Miley moment of 2014. Unfortunately, Miley upstaged her later in the show (activism is totally the new nudity, you guys) and Nicki got busted for faking the whole thing.
Crew members who were on hand for rehearsals say the stunt was planned and choreographed and really just a lame attempt by Nicki be sexy and demonstrate what a committed performer she is at the same time.
