An alternate title for Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Episode 4 might have been “Sister, Sister,” since the installment focused, once again, on the relationship between Meredith and Maggie.

Meredith’s walls are crumbling where her new sister is concerned! She’s letting the newb in!

While this episode was a retrospective focusing on Meredith and Richard, walking us down memory lane (though those of us who watch Grey’s Anatomy online are very familiar with most of these scenes) it was really about how Meredith and Maggie might form an understanding and how Maggie might begin to accept her new family.

When Maggie wanted to resign, Meredith wouldn’t let her, and instead opened up to her sister sharing journals from Ellis showing that she did care about Maggie.

We were also reminded about the time Ellis attempted to take her own life, which sort of explains some of Meredith’s darker qualities.

In the end, even McDreamy was ready to welcome Maggie into the family, and did as much with a great big hug. Finally, Meredith and Derek have started to put aside some of their differences and stop quibbling about every.single.thing.

The truce has long been necessary! Thank god it seems to be here.

In other happenings, Arizona is ceding her position to Alex in order to focus on her family and fellowship. It’s a smart move. A very smart move.
