Glamour has put together a great photo expose’ of current celebrities channeling some famous American icons in celebration of the magazine’s 70th Anniversary. The April 2009 cover is graced by gorgeous Katie Holmes, and the interior photos are remarkable as well.

Lindsay Lohan channels Madonna, Alicia Keys portrays Michelle Obama with her young daughters, teen actress Hayden Panettiere is believable as flying ace Amelia Earhart and Emma Roberts is a credible Audrey Hepburn. The photos were taken by Brigitte Lacombe.

Sophie Okonedo is an English actress who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the 2004 film Hotel Rawanda. Her current movie, The Secret Life of Bees, is set for release on October 17th. Sophie has been busy with premiere engagements in Washington D.C. and New York City.

The movie, adapted from a novel by Sue Monk Kidd, is set in South Carolina in 1964 and tells the moving tale of Lily Owens, a 14 year old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. The star studded cast includes Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah.

Alicia Keys ‘We Are Together’ Movie Premiere (Photos)

Alicia Keys, 28, attended the special screen premiere of We Are Together in New York City Thursday evening, June 12th. The documentary was three years in the making. Written and directed by Paul Taylor, the story line deals with 25 orphans from KwaZulu Natal who have lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic.

The film’s strongest element is the music they create, from casual songs in the yard to lively recording sessions and the soaring concert performance alongside Paul Simon and Alicia Keys. Their energetic skill as vocalists is thrilling and extremely moving.

The talented musician, a popular R&B and soul singer, has sold over 25 million albums through 2007. She is known to be a very private person and is rumored to be dating her song writer and record producer Kerry ‘Krucial’ Brothers. He has collaborated with her on all three of her albums and is photographed at her side frequently.

Keys would love to adopt a house full of multi-racial kids, following in the footsteps of actress Angelina Jolie. She admits that those plans will have to stay on the back burner while she concentrates on her musical career.

Alicia Keys Controversial Blender Interview and Photo Shoot

Alicia Keys is a 27 year old R&B singer and actress. She has sold over 25 million albums worldwide. Her list of awards is rapidly mounting with eleven Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Award, three American Music Awards and fourteen NAACP Image Awards – impressive to say the least.

Keys was born in Harlem and raised in Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan. She graduated at age 16 as Valedictorian of her class. She was accepted at Columbia University but opted to begin a musical career – which seems to have gone as planned for the mega star. She is involved in several philanthropic endeavors including concerts to benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts and has served as spokeswoman for the AIDS non profit organization Keep a Child Alive.

Keys sat for an interview with Blender Magazine for their April issue and caused a media stir when she stated that she believes the rivalry between Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.” She also claimed that “Gangsta Rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other.” During the interview she revealed that she wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck “to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead.”

Keys has signed on to appear in a 2008 movie project The Secret Life of Bees, a film adaptation of Sue Monk Kidd’s critically acclaimed 2003 bestseller. Also slated to appear in the movie are Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah.
