Angelina Jolie Returns to Ethiopia With Zahara

This was the first time that Zahara Jolie Pitt has returned to her native country of Ethiopia since she was adopted by actress Angela Jolie and actor Brad Pitt four years ago.

Currently the whole Jolie-Pitt clan is staying in Kenya on a United Nations mission. Over the weekend Angie, Zahara and her sister Shiloh crossed the border into Ethiopia.

The reason behind the two day trip to Zahara’s homeland was to keep her up on her culture. There is also a suggestion that Angelina is searching for a place to build a tuberculosis and AIDS clinic that would be in Zahara’s name.

Zahara’s eldest brother Maddox Jolie Pitt already has a similar organization called the “Maddox Jolie-Pitt Project” that aids in helping impoverished children. Maddox was adopted in 2002 and came from Cambodia.

Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt were a hit on the red carpet Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of his latest film Inglourious Basterds.

The actress wore a black strapless leather dress, was sporting bondage heels and had her hair flowing long and loose. Actress Diane Kruger, the female lead in the film, was forced to play second fiddle to Angelina. Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, who will be 8-years-old on August 5, arrived at LAX this morning to board a flight. The actress has been busy while in Los Angeles, with a meeting at Sony Studios and a couple of flying lessons.

Jolie also had a scheduled appointment with L.A. stylist Jennifer Rade. The woman had been collecting dresses from various top name designers for Jolie to wear at promotional events connected with her new spy thriller Salt.

The initial fitting had to be canceled because three boxes of designer clothing were stolen from Rade’s business last Thursday and they happened to be the items intended for Jolie. There will be plenty of time to sort it all out as Salt will not be released until July 2010.

Angelina’s other children include Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 3, and twins Knox and Vivienne who turned one-year-old on July 12.

Emporio Armani has signed on Angelina Jolie as the new face of their upcoming perfume ad campaign. The Insider is saying that Angie is going to be very hands on and already had input into the selection of a photographer and director.

Armani already features one of the hottest men in the world. David Beckham images are plastered on billboards everywhere, so it seems fitting that one of the sexiest women on the planet would be a perfect ad partner? Word has it they are already collaborating on a project.

David’s wife Victoria Beckham struts for Armani too in their lingerie ads. Any joint photo shoots between Beckham and Jolie would be a sure moneymaker for the brand.

Angelina Jolie is reportedly “furious” that Megan Fox is tapped to star as Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider film.

According to a source “”Angie was intent on reprising her role. She feels it’s something she helped define and feels robbed that it looks likely to be handed to someone who she considers less capable than her.”

The new movie is a prequel that focuses on Lara Croft’s younger years, however, the source says that “Angie isn’t a fan of the ‘Transformers’ films and believes Megan won’t do the Lara Croft character justice. She’s also annoyed because she thinks Megan copies everything from her, from her tattoos to her style.”

In a recent interview, Fox, who has been dubbed by the media as “the next Angelina Jolie,” said she despises the title and “is not the next anyone.”

Last year, Fox reportedly went off on a fan who compared her to Jolie, saying “Im much hotter than her.”

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton fell on Wednesday night and fractured her right elbow, according to her chief of staff Cheryl Mills.

The former New York Senator was headed to the White House from the State Department when the accident occurred. Clinton was treated at George Washington University Hospital, just a few blocks away from where she was injured. She will undergo surgery to repair the fracture in a few days.

Clinton was scheduled to appear on Thursday with actress Angelina Jolie at World Refugee Day in Washington D.C. She was forced to cancel her appearance and is said to be resting at home.

Cheryl Mills released the following short statement on the matter: “Secretary Clinton appreciates the professionalism and kindness she received from the medical team who treated her this evening and looks forward to resuming her full schedule soon.

Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie Donate $1 Million to St. John’s Hospital

One thing that you will probably never read in the headlines is that Brad Pitt and girlfriend Angelina Jolie are stingy. These two compassionate celebrities have donated millions to advance many worthwhile causes.

This time, Pitt and Jolie have written a check for $1 million to St. John’s Hospital in Brad’s hometown of Springfield, Missouri. Brad’s brother Doug Pitt is heading up this cause and announced the generous contribution, stating that the money will go towards an endowment fund used to pay for the services of children in need of cancer specialists.

The cancer treatment center at St. John’s Hospital will be renamed the Jane Pitt Pediatric Cancer Center, in honor of Brad’s mother, who also finds this particular cause near and dear to her heart.

The endowment will also fund a new pediatric unit, consisting of ten new units at the hospital based Ronald McDonald House. This expansion will double the existing space at the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit.

St. John’s is matching the $1 million donation.

Looks like the Jolie-Pitt clan is on the move again. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have leased media mogul Robert Murdoch’s Centre Island estate, Rosehearty.

Back in January, the Jolie-Pitts leased the $60 million Tudor style mansion, Sassafras. Now it appears they have loaded up the family and checked into Murdoch’s 10,000 square foot, waterfront Federal style house.

The gated and heavily secured estate sits on five acres fronting a 260-foot private beach facing Oyster Bay Harbor. There are 11 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms and 7 fireplaces in the main house.

The mansion was put on the market in 2007 with an asking price of $12,800,000. It was later taken off the market and was recently re-listed for $12,800,000.

Brangelina, on Long Island while Angie is shooting the spy thriller “Salt,” pays a whopping $100,000 a month to rent the home.

Actor Jon Voight was the master of ceremonies at the Washington Convention Center in D.C. on Monday night, where a crowd of 2,000 Republicans gathered for a GOP fundraiser.

Voight surprised many of the Republicans in the crowd with his sharp jabs, calling Obama a “false prophet”, imploring party members to find their way back to power in order to free the nation from “this Obama oppression”, and declaring that we are becoming “a weak nation”.

In a rebuttal this morning, Ryan Rudominer, a spokeman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reflected, “It sounds like last night’s Republican speakers “would rather bank on failure than work with Democrats.”

Voight appears to be positioning himself as yet another voice for the struggling Republican party. He is the father of actress Angelina Jolie. By the way, they don’t get along either. We’re just saying…

Amid rumors of a Brangelina split – which the couple’s rep denies, Angelina Jolie has toppled Oprah Winfrey on Forbes “The Celebrity 100″ list.

The Celebrity 100 List is Forbes annual ranking of the world’s most powerful celebrities, including film and television actors, models, chefs, athletes, authors and musicians. Results are determined by gross entertainment-related earnings and media visibility (exposure in print, television, radio and online).

Winfrey, who took the number two spot this year, is still the list’s top earner, raking in a whopping $275 million in the last year.

Jolie’s earnings came in at $27 million, with movies that included “Kung Fu Panda,” “Wanted” and the upcoming spy thriller “Salt.”

Rounding out the top five on the list are #3 Madonna ($110 million), #4 Beyoncé Knowles ($87 million) and #5 Tiger Woods ($110 million).

Brad Pitt comes in at number 9 on the list with earnings of $28 million.
