The 2013 CMT Music Awards were held Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville with Lenny Kravitz and Jason Aldean opening with ‘American Woman.’

Other notable performances during the evening honoring country music were courtesy of Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Hunter Hayes.

Two veterans, Kenny Rogers and Sheryl Crow, performed a duet of ‘Islands in the Stream,’ a song he originally sang with Dolly Parton.

Carrie Underwood won video of the year, Florida Georgia Line won duo video and Miranda Lambert took CMT performance of the year.

Group video honors went to Lady Antebellum for ‘Downtown.’ They hit the stage to perform with Darius Rucker, combining their talents on his newest hit ‘Wagon Wheel.’

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sin City featured some of our favorite celebrities looking decidedly glam for the high profile event.

Madonna, 54, rocked ripped fishnet and Ke$ha revealed lots of skin with a slit that ran up to her waist.

Showing off her shapely bare midriff in a two-piece body hugging ensemble was Jenny McCarthy. She tweeted prior to the event, “Worst travel day ever. I almost Reese Witherspooned it at the airport.”

We’re not quite sure what to make of Alyssa Milano‘s get-up that was described by one blogger as “culottes made of mosquito netting.”

Looking quite stunning were Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Carly Rae Jepsen and Hayden Panettiere.

We have to admit we were disappointed with the long red gown worn by the usually edgy Nicki Minaj. She appears to have temporarily lost her mojo … perhaps because of the dismal ‘Idol’ season that just wrapped with the worst ratings in the show’s 12 year history?

Justin Bieber Booed at Billboard Music Awards

Justin Bieber was booed last night at the Billboard Music Awards while accepting the fan-voted Milestone Award.

The Canadian pop star received boos while making his way onto the stage and again during his acceptance speech. Fans cheered in an attempt to drown out the haters in the crowd.

The Bieb seemed confused by their reaction as he delivered this response, “I’m 19 years old. I think I’m doing a pretty good job. Basically from my heart I really just want to say it really should be about the music. It should be about the craft that I’m making. This is not a gimmick and I’m an artist and I should be taken seriously. And all this other bull should not be spoken of.”

The “bull” reference in his speech was undoubted a nod to the bad publicity the teen has been picking up recently for driving infractions, arriving late for concerts, hard partying and drugs confiscated from his tour bus in Sweden.

Bieber went on to thank his manager Scooter Braun and his parents. Later he picked up his second award for Top Male Artist.

Show host Tracy Morgan tried to lighten the mood by telling the crowd, “Don’t be booin’ nobody, this ain’t ‘Showtime at the Apollo.’”

Taylor Swift Sweeps Billboard Music Awards

Taylor Swift dominated the 2013 Billboard Music Awards held last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

During one of her eight acceptance speeches she joked, “To the fans who come to the shows and buy the albums, I just want you to know this one thing: You are the longest and best relationship I’ve ever had.”

Her wins included Top Artist, Billboard 200 Album of the Year for ‘Red,’ Female Artist of the Year, Country Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year and Top Billboard 200 Artist.

Taylor was seated in the front row next to on-again, off-again Bieber girlfriend Selena Gomez. When Jennifer Lopez took the stage to perform, the two young entertainers got on their feet and danced.

Swift delivered a memorable and elaborate performance of her hit ’22′ that began backstage and featured several dancers, a bicycle ride and lots of red balloons. Check it out below:

Will Ferrell is Kanye’d by Aubrey Plaza at MTV Movie Awards

Will Ferrell got ‘Kanye’d’ last night while accepting the Comedic Genius Award at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards held at Sony Picture Studios in Los Angeles.

Interrupting the funnyman’s speech was ‘Parks and Recreation’ celeb Aubrey Plaza, who stormed the stage with drink in hand for an brazenly unscripted attempt to promote her new movie.

She tried to wrestle his Golden Popcorn statue away before the startled comedian asked her, “Are you ok?”

At that point she returned to her seat. The camera panned over her for a closeup that revealed the name of her new movie scrawled in black marker across her chest — ‘#The To Do List.’

Ferrell graciously thanked her for a “perfectly executed” bit. It turns out he was totally in the dark regarding the stunt and it didn’t take long for the actress to be ejected from the event.

Early this morning Plaza joked on Twitter, “Thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned! #mtvmovieawards #chrisbosh #thesecret”
