Television personality Brooke Burke-Charvet recorded a video to share some startling news — she will soon undergo thyroid surgery to remove a cancerous nodule.

The co-host of the Dancing with the Stars revealed, “You never think some tiny nodule… I never ever, ever thought I was going to get that phone call with bad news. I need to have a thyroidectomy.”

Burke-Charvet, 41, admits, “I’m so used to being in control and taking care of everybody and my kids and now I find myself in this really out-of-control situation. I’m just going to make a positive out of this negative thing. I’m going to be a really good patient and do everything I need to do.”

Dancing with the Stars host Brooke Burke married her partner of five years, French singer and actor David Charvet, on Friday in St. Barts.

Burke shared the news on her Twitter page this morning: “Morning tweeties. Waiting for LA to wake up….big news to share.”

Last year the DWTS celeb blogged about the possibility of a wedding. She wrote: “We started talking about why to do it at this point in our relationship. ‘Do you want forever?’ David asked. ‘Yes, I need forever.’ I said. It was just that simple. I would like to have a husband.”

The couple, both 39, have been together since 2006 and have two children, Shaya, 3, and Rain, 4. Burke has two other daughters from a previous marriage, Sierra, 9, and Neriah, 11.

The new season of the hit ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars premiere’s September 22.

Brooke Burke featured in the January 2011 issue of Shape…

Brooke Burke graces the cover of Shape magazine’s January 2011 issue and we say–well done! The buff and gorgeous model and television co-host will be 40 next year but she manages to keep herself at the peak of perfection.

Brooke and her partner David Charvet have been going strong since 2006. She has two children from a previous marriage and they have two children from their unofficial union.

Burke won the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars and now hosts the show along with Tom Bergerson.

Brooke Burke and Daughters Brooke Burke Family

The stunning Brooke Burke is a former Dancing With the Stars contestant and has now signed on as Tom Bergeron‘s co-host. Television isn’t her only occupation. Brooke is writing a book entitled “The Naked Mom” according to The New American Library.

Burke’s book will detail how she keeps romance, four children, and a successful career in proper balance. She is excited about her new project which she says is “uncensored, revealing, vulnerable and sexy.” Brooke is currently riding high with her career in large part because she exudes the confidence, character and charm that many women strive for in life.

Brooke married Garth Fisher in 2001, a well known L.A. plastic surgeon. They had two children, Neriah Shae and Sierra Sky before their union ended in divorce in 2006.

That same year Burke met actor David Charvet and they became engaged. They also have two children together, Heaven Rain and Shaya Braven. They are in no hurry to change their engagement status – which is going on four years.

“The Naked Mom” hits book stores in April 2011 and will be published by an imprint of Penguin Group (USA).

Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonoili visited Lopez Tonight and told the cold, hard truth about Kate Gosselin’s dancing skillls – or lack thereof.

Tonoili told George that Kate’s ballroom skills were, “dreadful”, “a catastrophe” and “crap” but added, “in a good way.”

We’re not convinced that ‘good’ and ‘Kate’s dancing skills’ belong in the same sentence – she’s been in the bottom three both votes and the judges have not given her more than 16 points.
