Bruce Willis’ Soldier Mt. Ski Resort Destroyed By Fire (PHOTOS)

Fire destroyed Soldier Mountain Ski Resort in Fairfield, Idaho on Monday. The 50 year old landmark, co-owned by actor Bruce Willis, had just closed for the season when fire swept through the property.

According to Camas County Chief Deputy Brian Miller, the blaze started at 7:30 a.m. and destroyed the lodge and a ski rental building nearby. The resort employs 50 people during the ski season. Fairfield Mayor David Hanks called the fire a real blow to the community. He stated that area businesses count on the ski resort to help bring customers into the area during the winter months.

The last ski day was Saturday and a season ending employee party was held on Sunday night. The fire is believed to have started near a fireplace on the north end of the lodge. The fire marshal is continuing to investigate.

Willis and the Valley Entertainment Group had been working on a new master development plan with officials of the Sawtooth National Forest to build a new lodge and a new lift for the resort.

Bruce Willis, 53, and girlfriend Emma Heming, 28, were married in the Caribbean on Saturday on Parrot Cay, in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where the actor owns a home.

The “Die Hard” star exchanged vows with his model girlfriend in a ceremony attended by his ex-wife Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher.

The couple, dating since last year, sparked rumors they were to wed after renting a block of ocean view homes for friends.

Madonna was also among the guests at the wedding, according to reports.

Bruce Willis Walks Off Set and Gets Sued

Actor Bruce Willis went from acting to directing and it sounds like things didn’t go as planned for the production company that recently hired him. Foresight Unlimited is suing Willis for walking off the set.

The movie Three Stories About Joan was to be directed by Willis, who signed a deal to be paid $196,404 and work within a $20 million budget. Owen Wilson and Camilla Belle were signed to co-star in the film.

Here is what we know: a suit was filed in LA County Superior Court which alleges that Willis left the set without any notice and has never returned. Bruce would only say that it was for personal reasons. The production company is seeking $4 million in damages.

Marty Stinger, who is known to be a “pit bull” of a lawyer, represents Bruce and calls the lawsuit absurd. Stinger says the producers are at fault for not having the money to pay anyone or open escrow accounts.

Rumer Willis was all set to perform her official duties as Miss Golden Globe in early 2008 when the awards show was canceled due to the Writers Strike. She will get another opportunity to hand out the spherical statues at the 66th Annual Golden Globes in January.

The announcement came from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The 19 year old will join the ranks of other celebrity kids who have performed the Miss Golden Globe duties in the past: Lorraine Nicholson, Lily Costner, Laura Dern, Joely Fisher and Melanie Griffith.

Rumer is the daughter of actor Bruce Willis and actress Demi Moore. Between the two celebrities they have been nominated six times for a prestigious Golden Globe award. Bruce took home Best Performance honors in 1985 for his role in TV series Moonlighting.

Steven Spielberg was the recipient of the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award. The event was broadcast live from The Beverly Hilton on NBC on January 11, 2009, 8-11 p.m. EST.
