Carrie Underwood Launches Play On, Letterman VIDEO

Country singing sensation Carrie Underwood will launch Play On, her third album, in New York City on Tuesday, November 3. The 26-year-old American Idol winner released one of the album singles, Cowboy Casanova, on September 14 – see video below.

Underwood has a full schedule planned for launch week. She appeared on David Letterman’s show on Monday night, and will perform on Good Morning America on Tuesday morning in Lincoln Center. She will cap off the week with a Wednesday November 5 appearance on Regis and Kelly.

Carrie has been in a low-key relationship with NHL player Mike Fisher – see photos and video here.

Underwood’s first album, Some Hearts, was released in 2005 and was certified seven times platinum. Her second album, Carnival Ride, was released in October 2007 and sold 2.9 million copies.

Mike Fisher, 29, is the center and alternate captain of the NHL Ottawa Senators. In his off hours the Canadian pro athlete manages to find time for his 26-year-old girlfriend, country singing sensation Carrie Underwood.

The couple met in October 2008 at a concert that the former Idol winner was performing in Toronto. In a case of mutual attraction, the couple has spent the last year making it work despite the jobs that keep them traveling in opposite directions.

They have been keeping the relationship on the down low until recently. Appearing on The Sens Show last week, Fisher said, “Obviously it’s tough with our schedules to see each other but we always find a way to make it work.”

On the subject of her exceptional talent, he offered up the following, “She can sing anything–I like it when she sings a good rock song.” He even managed a plug for her new album, Play On, saying that his favorite song is called Temporary Home. Look for it to drop on November 3.

Carrie Underwood to Perform for Screaming Eagles

On August 14th country singer Carrie Underwood is heading to Fort Campbell to perform for the troops. Carrie’s performance will kick off the Week of the Eagles, honoring the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division.

Carrie is busy working on her upcoming album. No worries for her fans, they can catch her at a handful of live performances that she will put on this summer.

Along with Underwood, John Rich and Jake Owen will perform at the military celebration. Fort Campbell, home to the only Air Assault Division in the world, is located on the Kentucky-Tennessee line, sixty miles northwest of Nashville.

Carrie Underwood accepted the ACM Entertainer of the Year award at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music ceremony on Sunday night. This was after already receiving the award for CMA Top Female Artist.

The former American Idol winner said, “I’ve had a lot of big moments in the past four years and this takes the cake.”

Underwood performed her song while wearing what she described as her ‘red lava dress’. The creation was a big secret until Sunday night. Dress rehearsal was off limits to cameras so that she would have the element of surprise during the award show – see photo below.

The Doctors: Dr. Travis Stork Dating Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood, 25, country singing sensation and American Idol winner, has been seen out and about in New York City with Dr. Travis Stork. If that name sounds familiar you’ve either caught him as The Bachelor circa 2006 or as co-host on The Doctors, a new afternoon talk show.

Stork, 36 has a Nashville connection, having practiced ER medicine at Vanderbilt Medical Center. His latest television venture bills the ER Doc and his colleagues as ‘America’s medical dream team’. His cohorts include Dr. Jim Sears, Dr. Lisa Masterson and Dr. Drew Ordon. The show debut was in September 2008.

During Stork’s tenure on The Bachelor, he whittled down a group of 25 women and chose Nashville kindergarten teacher Sarah Stone to be his wife. The dew was off the rose before the show finale hit the airwaves and the couple parted, fondly remembering the show as a “great experience in Paris and we’ll never forget that”.

Stork was photographed at one of Underwood’s recent Carnival Tour concerts in Topeka, Kansas. He was sporting an all-access backstage pass around his neck. They were also seen at Stephen Starr’s French bistro Parc in Philadelphia dining with friends.

Country western singing sensation Carrie Underwood posed with her new wax twin at Madame Tussauds. Her waxwork likeness was unveiled in a Time Square exhibit in New York City earlier this week.

Underwood has been busy with her tour schedule but took time out for this photo op with her wax twin. She has been nominated in two CMA categories: Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Carnival Ride. The award show airs on ABC on November 12, 2008 and will be hosted by Underwood and Brad Paisley.

Carrie Underwood is undeniably one of the hottest country singers on the planet, so why is she having such a hard time finding a meaningful relationship? In the September issue of Allure magazine Carrie opens up about the trials and tribulations of dating and finding a sincere man.

“You never really know why someone wants to be around you, or if they do genuinely like you. I wish everyone had a label on their forehead so you could automatically tell their intentions. Sometimes you just wish no one wanted anything from you.”

Underwood clarified the ending of her relationship with Gossip Girl’s star Chace Crawford and said that they just simply didn’t work out, nothing bad tore them apart. But when it came to talking about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, currently hanging with Jessica Simpson, that was a different story.

“We were both small town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame.”

In past interviews Carrie claimed that her relationship with Romo was never all that serious but it sounds like maybe he still holds some feelings for the country star. Underwood said she still hears from the football player and that when he calls sometimes she answers and sometimes she doesn’t.

Oh, I hope Jessica Simpson doesn’t read her interview in Allure. She’s not the most stable girl where Underwood is concerned – case in point the t-shirt that dissed Carrie Underwood.

American Idol season four winner, Carrie Underwood, was spotted enjoying a little beach time in Destin, Florida, soaking up some rays in a teeny bikini.

Carrie, voted the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian twice by PETA, looks fit and fab in these photos. Last month Jessica Simpson had tongues wagging when she sported a “Real Girls Eat Meat” t-shirt that many speculated was a dig at Underwood, who used to date Simpson’s Dallas Cowboys boyfriend Tony Romo.

I’ll just go ahead an stick my foot in it. I’m a proud meat eater and have no qualms about it whatsoever, and yep, Carrie Underwood looks mighty fine in these bikini photos, but hey, Jessica Simpson is no slouch either!

The divorce between singers Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey has turned Papa Joe’s daughter into a desperate and needy woman. She’s done some ditsy things before but her latest stunt may bite her in the butt.

The country singer was seen in public recently wearing a t-shirt that reads, “Real Girls Eat Meat” emblazoned across her chest. Let’s see, a celebrity that believes in slaughtering animals – she’s really hung herself out there for some serious flack. Actually, a Simpson family source said that her shirt has nothing to do with her love for steaks, but is really a plain out and out cut at vegetarian Carrie Underwood, who once dated Simpson’s current boyfriend NFL Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo.

This story would not be complete without a message to Jessica from animal rights group Peta, who by the way named Underwood ‘World’s Sexiest Vegetarian‘ not just once, but twice. Peta told OK!:

Jessica Simpson’s meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken-of-the-Sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo ‘Wings’ came from buffalo would benefit from some good veggie brain food.”

Whether Jessica loves or hates meat is beside the point in my book. It’s obviously a personal decision, but….to wear such a shirt in public knowing it will appear in every magazine and on a multitude of websites is just plain crazy.

OK! magazine has a photo of Jess in the offensive meat loving shirt. Let the bashing begin.

Carrie Underwood is not comfortable in her skin but she does describe the last few years as a wonderful craziness. The 25 year old has undergone a massive transformation since leaving her home in Checotah, Oklahoma. She boarded an airplane for the first time in her life a short three years ago and flew to Hollywood where she won American Idol Season Four.

The instant fame catapulted her into a self described ‘carnival ride life’. She has sold 12 million records worldwide, swept the Billboard, American Music and Grammy Awards. Her second album, Carnival Ride, has had three #1 hits: So Small, All American Girl and Last Name.

The gorgeous young woman appears in Cosmopolitan magazine’s July issue. It is obvious that she takes her career very seriously and has kept her eye on the prize, steering clear of the pitfalls that appear along the way. She declares herself socially uneasy:

I don’t consider myself sexy. I’m kind of a nervous person in general. I’m socially awkward. I’m not tall and sensuous. I usually wear sweats everywhere I go. Oh, and I burp a lot.”

That person [onstage] says the right things and does the right things. And you know, that person’s cool. This person’s not,” Carrie says, pointing to herself.” This person is human.”
