Like many high profile couples, the time has apparently come for Julianne Hough and her country singing boyfriend Chuck Wicks to take a break.  The celebrity pair mutually decided that they need some time apart.

The two will still uphold their obligations this evening at the Country Music Association Awards.  Chuck with be interviewing on the red carpet for Entertainment Tonight and the lovely Miss Julianne will be a presenter.

They initially met through fellow country singer Brad Paisley while touring with the star.  It only took a few weeks of dating for the two to start talking about marriage.  Julianne said, “The minute we met it was perfect.”

Julianne, a professional dancer, has taken time away from Dancing With The Stars to test the waters as a country singer.  With the split, it should be interesting to see if she goes back to her dancing roots in Los Angeles or sticks it out in Nashville.

Who knows—maybe a little time away will be just what they need and they will reunite and walk down that aisle together.

Former talk show host Ricki Lake is back on the market.  But not so quick guys–she admits that her heart is broken at the moment and it is way too soon to be thinking about dating.  Lake recently ended a relationship with an “unidentified” man.

She took to her Twitter page, and referenced the ex-boyfriend yesterday.  We’re reading between the lines and based on her quote below, it looks he may not have been gainfully employed and she got tired of supporting him.

So once Ricki is ready to find love again, what will she be looking for?  “I’m kind of a cougar, they have to be (at least) 30-something, with a job!  I don’t want them to take care of me;  I just want them to take care of themselves.”

Ricki has two sons with ex-husband Rob Sussman.  They ended their 10-year marriage back in 2003.

There are serious marriage issues between former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell and Kelli Carpenter.  O’Donnell appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show yesterday to talk about her new gig that will launch November 2, 2009 on Sirius XM to be titled Rosie Radio.   In addition to chatting about the new project, she did manage to shed a small amount of light on the marital strife “rumors.”

Kelli and Rosie were married back in 2004 just two weeks after San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom authorized the granting of marriage licenses to same sex couples.

Howard wanted to focus on exactly where the marriage stands at this minute.  Rosie admitted to Stern, “We have come to the point where we are seeing (if) what will make everyone happiest is maybe not live together, but continue to parent.  We have different styles of living.  I’m very messy.  She’s very not.”

Stern tried to dig deeper for the “real” reason behind the split.  Somehow Rosie being a slob doesn’t seem like a deal breaker and Stern is no fool.  He suggested that maybe their sex life had broken down.  Rosie would only say, “Kelli and I have alot of issues, and sex wasn’t one of them.”

Our guess is that we won’t hear much more than that in any interview.  Rosie did make a statement last week and said they are a family and will work together.  Read the rest of the statement at Starpulse.

The whole world has been clued in as to how Jon Gosselin feels about the future of the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8.  His wish seems to have been granted and the TLC show will reportedly come to an end in November.

TLC will piece together some unused existing footage to come up with a few more episodes and then it will be lights out in Wernersville, PA.   It should be interesting to see what will happen when Jon runs out of money and decides that he has made a big mistake by abruptly ending the gravy train.  If he has a change of heart, would the network bring them back?  More to the point…would anyone watch if they did?

We think we can safely say that the nation is ready for a break with the Gosselin drama.  Wallowing in someone else’s divorce woes is painful stuff.  It’s high time for TLC to cut them loose to figure it out on their own.

Celebrity chef Todd English is speaking out about leaving fiancee Erica Wang at the altar.

English called off the wedding  just hours before the couple was set to exchange vows on October 3, sticking her with a $12,000 bill.

In an interview with the New York Post, Wang claims that the Olives chef has cut off her credit cards and is forcing her to move out of their Chelsea apartment by the end of the month, leaving her homeless, with no money.  Since she was also English’s personal assistant, she is also jobless.

English released a statement to the Post, saying, “I am deeply saddened and remorseful for the cancellation of the wedding and any embarrassment that it caused to Erica, her family, my family and our friends. It was never intended this way, but our relationship has not been positive for some time.”

After saying Wang had hit and wounded him during a fight and tore up a prenup agreement, the statement added, “As sad and painful this has been for me and I am sure for her, we are better off alone rather than together. I wish Erica well.”

Speaking with the Boston Globe, English said Wang has an explosive temper and he was “psychologically, emotionally and physically abused.”

Just weeks before the intended $150,000 ceremony, English, 49, claims Wang hit him in the face repeatedly with his own watch, resulting in a cut around his eye that required stitches.

“Until that day, I planned to go through with the marriage,” he said. “I disappeared before the wedding because I didn’t want to get into another confrontation with Erica. I didn’t know where this thing was going.”

On waiting until the last minute to cancel the wedding, Enlish said, “I made a mistake.  I let it go too far, but I got out of it in time before it cost me more in the future.”

In the Post interview, Wang, 33, denied ever hitting the restaurateur, and said the prenup was “ludicrous and offensive,” adding, “It said if we ever break up — ever — I would get zero. There was one number all over it and that was zero. I said I would sign anything reasonable, but he never presented me with another one.”

Actor Eddie Cibrian and Brandi Glanville are reportedly putting on a good front for their children but his new girlfriend isn’t extending the same courtesy to her.  Since Eddie and singer LeAnn Rimes came forward as a couple, life has gotten uncomfortable for Brandi…to hear her tell it.

Glanville reveals that she feels like LeAnn is “Single White Female-ing” her.  Brandi spoke with USmagazine.com last weekend in Las Vegas. “I have a new neighbor and her name is LeAnn Rimes.  She’s moved in a half a mile from my house and a block from my son’s school.  So she is completely space invading me at the moment so things aren’t cool.”

There have been several run-ins between the ladies and Glanville says they are “not pleasant”.  She warns that LeAnn needs to “get a sensitive side and back the F up.”

Brandi, who recently called her husband a “compulsive liar”, went on record as saying that LeAnn can have “most” everything except for her children.  Read more on the saga here.

After a year-and-a-half  secret marriage, actress Emmy Rossum and record company executive Justin Siegel have filed for a divorce.

The pair split back in August and after some digging, E! News uncovered the secret news that they were married.  In an effort to hide the details of the union, they reportedly paid extra money to keep any notice of their vows from becoming part of the public record.

In the divorce petition filed by Siegel, the reason for the split was irreconcilable differences and showed a wedding date of February 17, 2008.  Justin has asked the court to have Emmy pay his legal fees and spousal support.

Singer Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley, Canadian musician, producer and frontman for the band Sum 41,  have decided after three years of marriage to go their separate ways.  They wed in July 2006.

In the current US Weekly magazine, 25-year-old Lavigne called an end to the marriage by tossing Whibley out of their 12,000 square foot $9.5 million Bel Air estate.   Divorce papers are expected to be filed within the next few days.

Rumors of marital trouble first surfaced in October 2008, while Lavigne was on her world tour.  At that time it was reported that Whibley was drinking and partying hard.

Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Mort has dumped Jodi Foster for former girlfriend Amanda Demme.

Foster, who left her live-in love of 14 years for Mort, is said to be “shell-shocked” over the break up, according to the National Enquirer.

The two-time Oscar winning actress publicly acknowledged her relationship with film producer Cydney Bernard in 2007, when she accepted the Sherry Lancing Leadership Award at the Women in Entertainment breakfast, referring to Bernard as “my beautiful Cydney.”

She later left Bernard for Mort – a writer/producer, whom she met while filming The Brave One in 2006.

Now, according to The Enquirer, Cindy has reignited a romance with Amanda, a well-known, Hollywood club promoter and the widow of film director Ted Demme.

Interestingly, Amanda has also been romantically linked to Lindsay Lohan.

Singer and actress LeAnn Rimes and her husband Dean Sheremet are moving forward with a divorce.  Their relationship has been in question since LeAnn and actor Eddie Cibrian were reported to be having an affair.

Dean and LeAnn met when he was a back-up dancer for her show in 2001 and they married the following year.  LeAnn was 19 at the time and Dean was 21.

Yesterday LeAnn posted a note to her fans on her personal website addressing their separation.  “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Dean and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage.  This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another.  Thank you so much for all your continued love and support.”

Eddie and his wife Brandi Glanville made the announcement for their split at the end of July.  Word on the net is that Brandi and Dean have also been leaning on each other for much needed support during this difficult time.  Interesting.
