Charlie Sheen becomes Carlos Estevez

Charlie Sheen has opted to use his given name, Carlos Estevez, to identify himself in the upcoming action film ‘Machete Kills.’

The ‘Anger Management’ star portrays the President of the United States in the flick that boasts a star-studded cast featuring Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Antonio Banderas, Zoe Saldana, Lady Gaga, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Cuba Gooding Jr..

The former ‘Two and a Half Men’ celeb hasn’t been known as Carlos since he was four-years-old.  At that time he asked his famous father Martin Sheen if he could be called Charlie, to eliminate confusion with a relative with the same first name.

He later took his father’s stage surname as well, a moniker that Ramon Antonio Gerardo Estevez adopted when he was trying to establish himself in Hollywood in the early 60′s.

The senior Sheen later acknowledged, “I started making a living with it and then it was too late.  In fact, one of my great regrets is that I didn’t keep my name as it was given to me.  I knew it bothered my dad.”

He is happy to report that he never officially changed his name, and is still Ramon Estevez on his driver’s license and passport.

As for Charlie … the verdict is still out on whether the use of Carlos Estevez is an experiment or something more permanent.

Brooke Mueller Placed on 5150 Hold at UCLA Medical Center

Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, also known as a 5150, at the UCLA Medical Center Wednesday night.

Her twin sons were taken from the home by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and placed temporarily with Sheen’s other ex-wife Denise Richards.

A source close to the situation told Radar Online, “Brooke was taken to the medical center on Wednesday night, after she was deemed to be a threat to herself and to others.”

“She had been using drugs for days and was not in her right mind. It was a very sad, sad situation.”

“Once Brooke was admitted, her doctors notified the Department of Children and Family Services and action was taken by the agency immediately to get her children legally out of her care.”

She remains hospitalized but according to her friend, “Brooke is completely in denial about how bad her addiction is to crystal meth. Even after losing Bob and Max, she is still refusing to go back to rehab.”

Her mother Moira Fiore told Radar on Friday, “Everything is fine, everything is the way it is supposed to be right now…Brooke is fine, everybody is fine.”  Mueller’s rep had “no comment.”

A court hearing will take place next week to determine new custody arrangements for Max and Bob Sheen.

Denise Richards Provides Emergency Shelter for Charlie’s Twin Sons

Brooke Mueller was served with a warrant last night by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services that allowed the agency to remove her twin sons from her home.

Charlie Sheen‘s boys were placed in the temporary care of his ex-wife Denise Richards, pending a court hearing set for next week that will determine a proper placement for the children.

According to TMZ, four-year-old Bob Sheen and his brother Max Sheen were remanded to a temporary custody arrangement when L.A. Children and Family Services determined that they were in danger while living with their mother in an “unsafe environment” due to her contined struggles with drug addiction.

Denise and Charlie have developed a fairly solid relationship.  She publicly supported her ex following his NYC hotel room debacle as he spiraled out of control before getting the boot from ‘Two and a Half Men.’

Sheen clearly has Denise’s back as well.  He tweeted earlier this week, “Listen up sad, dooshy media.  STOP the inane reports of Denise’s weight!  She’s SO healthy!”  She had this to say about her weight.

The couple have two daughters: Sam Sheen, 9, and Lola Sheen, 7.  Richards adopted daughter Eloise in 2011.

Charlie Sheen and LiLo Friends With Benefits?

Charlie Sheen is definitely an easy mark when it comes to showering Lindsay Lohan with financial support.

First he wrote a check for $100,000 to cover part of her $233K IRS debt and just last week he “went halfsies” on the designer dress she rocked at the amfAR gala fundraiser.

She looked stunning in the nude and silver beaded fringe gown by Theia, though she did catch a great deal of flak for the Mendel fur hoodie that she shed after making her grand entrance.

A few hours before the annual gala kicked off New York Fashion Week, Sheen put in an emergency call to celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch, requested that he provide a couture gown for Lindsay to wear to the high profile event.

Bloch told Us Weekly, “Never in a business like this do you see a celebrity pay for another celebrity.  He’s very considerate.”

Charlie’s rep confirmed it, “Charlie has a long history of helping out his friends in many ways, and this is just another example of that.”

We aren’t sure how this generally works but we were under the impression that designers allow celebs to wear their gowns at no cost for the exposure.  Oh wait … you have to be a “legitimate” celebrity.

There has been a lot of chatter lately about the various “Sugar Daddies” in Lindsay’s life.  Maybe Sheen is just that.

Charlie Sheen Pays for Pap Chris Guerra’s Funeral

‘Anger Management’ star Charlie Sheen has opened his checkbook once again, this time to help the family of deceased paparazzo Chris Guerra.  The actor donated $12,000 to cover his funeral expenses.

Guerra, 29, died when he was struck by a car in L.A. on New Year’s Day while in the process of capturing photographs of Justin Bieber‘s car.

TMZ spoke with Sheen about writing the $12k check and he said, “A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future  As parents, we are not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”

The entertainer is reportedly tight with a former photographer who was close to Guerra.  The guy told Charlie that the grieving family was struggling to raise money to cover the cost of the funeral.

Recently Sheen wrote out a check for $100k to help Lindsay Lohan with her IRS problems.

Charlie posed yesterday with Extra TV’s Terri Seymour to promote a new season of his FX series ‘Anger Management’ that premieres January 17th.
