NBC Confirms Cee Lo and Xtina Back on ‘The Voice’ for Season 5

Unlike other reality talent competitions, NBC’s ‘The Voice’ is not feeling the need to shake things up, but rather has decided to revisit the past by inviting Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera back as season 5 coaches.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain firming entrenched with the show while Shakira and Usher will be given a one-season break to do other things.

The popular singing show has been killing it with the ratings since the series debuted during the 2010-11 season, much to the dismay of their sagging competitor ‘American Idol.’

New mom Shakira has been experiencing some serious mommy guilt, of late, and is looking forward to returning to Spain when the season wraps in June.

The announcement came today from Paul Telegdy, president of programming at NBC: “We locked in a plan several months ago to have the outstanding Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green rejoin Blake and Adam for cycle 5, and we’re pleased to announce that the original four coaches are going to be back together in the fall.”

“They’re the reason this show was launched so strong for the first three cycles and we owe them a debt of gratitude. And after careful consideration of everyone’s schedules for next spring, we are excited to be returning the current cycle of judges — Shakira and Usher along with Blake and Adam — for cycle 6, which will premiere after the Winter Olympics.”

Christina Aguilera's new house in Mulholland Estates

Christina Aguilera just dropped $10,000,000 on a 6 bedroom, 9 bathroom house once occupied by former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof.

The seller of the 11,107 square foot Mediterranean mansion is Tom Gores, who owns the Detroit Pistons. Last year, he leased the house to newly divorced Maloof for around $20,000 per month, according to sources.

Large living spaces include a formal living room, a formal dining room, a wood paneled library, at least five fireplaces, two bars and a walk-in wine cellar. There is a den/family room and eat-in center island kitchen. An enclosed loggia leads to extensive patio spaces, a saltwater pool and spa, bathhouse, gazebo and built-in barbeque.

Each of the five guest/family bedrooms has a private en suite facility, and the second floor master suite includes a fireplace, private office, large terrace with outdoor fireplace and a marble bath with steam shower and soaking tub.

Christina will be joining a number of celebrities in the private enclave near Beverly Hills, including Charlie Sheen, Paris Hilton and Robbie Williams.

Her former home is currently in escrow for $13,500,000. That home was previously owned by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

Following a three-season stint as a coach and judge on ‘The Voice,’ Christina Aguilera has used her down time to shed some weight.

The ‘Burlesque’ actress attended the season 4 premiere earlier this week to support her former colleagues at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre.

Augilera, 32, was rocking a little black dress with halter styling, accessorized with a studded belt and black Louboutin heels.

Comparing Wednesday’s red carpet photos with images captured in November 2012 at the American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater, Aguilera’s transformation is obvious.

The musician had this to say about her fluctuating weight, “I’ve been through my highs, I’ve been through my lows. Being too thin. Being bigger. I’ve been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It’s noise I try to block out automatically. My son is healthy and happy, so that’s all that matters to me.”

She told PEOPLE, “It’s amazing what having some personal time can do, not only for the body but also for the mind and the spirit.”

Xtina has been “trying new types of foods and exploring new methods of exercise,” not for diet or weight, but more for her mind and well being and overall sense of good health.

Whatever she is doing, it appears to be working. Looking good Christina!

Fun Fact: The singer and her husband Jordan Bratman were paid $1.5 million by PEOPLE magazine for their son’s first baby pictures, the sixth most expensive celebrity baby photos ever taken. Max Liron Bratman is 5.

‘The Voice’ Perform ‘Hallelujah’ to Honor Newtown: VIDEO

The opening minutes of ‘The Voice’ last night featured a poignant rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ with solos offered up by the coaches to honor the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera sang their parts in the moving tribute as the camera panned the group of 26 on choir risers who held cards with each of the names of the fallen displayed.

Large flickering candles banked the front of the stage for the touching performance that was done in a low light setting. A similar tribute, by a children’s choir, opened ‘SNL’ this past weekend – see that here.

Christina Aguilera of ‘The Voice’ sat down with Ellen DeGeneres for an interview that will air Friday on her talk show.

The most entertaining subject during their chat, by far, was Xtina’s reaction to the now infamous photo of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton checking out her cleavage.

It was during a leadership awards ceremony in October that the former First Lady couldn’t take her eyes off of Christina’s chest. In retrospect, the singer said, “That picture looks like it was Photoshopped but it’s not. That was a real moment.”
